Are You Interested in a Peak Notions Book Club?
It's a book club, but different. Share your input via the poll!
I’d like to offer more special features to the paid subscribers who play an essential part in keeping Peak Notions going.
With that in mind, I thought I’d check in to see what you think about a book club exclusively for paid subscribers and ask for your input via the poll below. A number of people have asked for it, and if there’s enough demand, we could build what it looks like together based on interest, numbers and availability.
I get a lot of questions from people who are interested in philosophy . Their questions and concerns are often similar:
they’re unsure how and where to start reading about philosophy
they say they’d like to be better critical thinkers
they want to be more politically or intellectually aware
they want to feel able to form a confident perspective on a cultural viewpoint or popular ideology
they feel intimidated by ‘straight’ philosophy or find it dull or impenetrable
I put together a couple of reading lists (starting with this one) both to prove that you have definitely already read and engaged with philosophy, even if you think you haven’t, and to help people dip a toe without having to start with the more formal stuff (which I agree can be off putting at first).
